I’m Raymundo Garza, a contemporary abstract artist based in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. My work blends architectural structure with expressive gesture, influenced by Mexican albañilería and artists such as Luis Barragán and Gunther Gerzso.
I build layered paintings using oils, acrylics, and textured materials, allowing forms to move from structure toward human presence. My practice has been shaped by study visits to the Art Institute of Chicago, the Cleveland Museum of Art, the Museum of Fine Arts and the Menil Collection, Houston, Museo de Arte Moderno, CDMX, and the Museo del Prado.
Each painting is intentionally open, inviting viewers to slow down and find their own meaning.
