Who is Raymundo?

Raymundo Garza is a contemporary abstract artist based in San Miguel de Allende. His work blends architectural structure with emotional storytelling, informed by the Mexican craft of albañilería and influences like Luis Barragán and Gunther Gerzso. With a background in corporate America, photography, and design, he builds layered compositions using oils, acrylics, and textured mediums.

His practice is shifting from strict geometry toward organic forms and the human figure, shaped by study visits to major museums in CDMX, Chicago, Cleveland, Houston, Madrid, and New York. Inspired by Willem de Kooning, Cecily Brown, Egon Schiele, and the old masters—as well as fashion and editorial imagery—Raymundo explores how space and gesture reveal human presence.

His work invites viewers to discover their own story within the painting.
